The Tampa Bay Rays made many roster adjustments on Tuesday, and one of those was to designate left-handed pitcher Ryan Yarbrough for assignment.
Yarbrough had a record of 3-8 with a 4.50 earned run average
In 20 games, nine of which he started. Since his first two seasons in 2018-19, in which his teams went a combined 27-12, he has seen a decline in his output. During his time with the Rays, he appeared in 127 games and had a record of 40-31 with a 4.33 earned run average.
JT Chargois, a relief pitcher, and Xavier Edwards, a minor league infielder, were traded to the Miami Marlins in exchange for minor league right-handed pitchers Marcus Johnson and Santiago Suarez.
Due to an oblique injury, Chargois was only able to participate in 21 games this season. He had a record of 2-0 and a 2.42 earned run average.
Miles Mastrobuoni, an infielder and outfielder with the Tampa Bay Rays, was transferred to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for Alfredo Zárraga, a minor league right-handed pitcher.
The San Francisco Giants acquired minor league infielder Brett Wisely from the San Diego Padres in exchange for minor league outfielder Tristan Peters.
The following players have been selected for inclusion on the 40-man roster: infielders Osleivis Basabe, Greg Jones, and Curtis Mead, as well as right-handed pitchers Taj Bradley and Colby White.
Bradley, who was 21 at the time, played in both Double-A Montgomery and Triple-A Durham in 2022. After being selected as the best pitcher in the Southern League by the league managers, he went on to become the starting pitcher for the American League team that participated in the All-Star Futures Game.
