What Do You Mean by Dialysis Ultra-filters?

When we are talking about the term dialysis ultrafilter in medicine, we are basically talking about two combined terms. The first one is dialysis and second one is ultra-filter. Now let us go in depth of these two individual terms. Dialysis is the process of removing excess water, solutes, and toxins from the blood of people whose kidneys can no longer perform these functions naturally and need a manual treatment. This process can also be referred to as renal replacement therapy. Ultrafiltration is a process where the high hydrostatic pressure forces small molecules such as water, glucose, amino acids, sodium chloride and urea pass through the filter, from the blood in the glomerular capsule across the base membrane of the Bowman’s capsule and into the nephron.

Dialysis Ultrafiltration Mechanism
